About this provider
Community of Refugees from Vietnam – East London (CRV-East London) was set up in 1983 by the first group of Vietnamese refugees settled in East London. Its purpose is to provide care and support to enable Vietnamese refugees living in East London to integrate into the local community and to assist other Vietnamese refugee communities in the UK to set up their own organisations.
During the past thirty years the needs of the community have changed from those of newly arrived refugees. At the same time, there have been changes in welfare policy, practice, and funding resources. These factors directly influence the services that C.R.V offers.
We aim to help people in the Vietnamese community who are in need, hardship, or distress and to provide services to improve the conditions and quality of life of the Vietnamese community in East London. We also promote to preserve the traditional Vietnamese culture by interacting with other Vietnamese refugee communities.
